The time has come to share with you something that has been in the works for a while. Introducing The Twelfth Year -WORK LAB this is an unconventional workshop! Yes, we said unconventional. What does that mean? It means, it’s not like the other workshops out there.
The difference is we are gonna GET STUFF DONE.
In a world of online everything… which works for most of us and has and will continue to be a great way to educate yourself. Its time to offer a different style of educational workshop. Believe us when we say we have taken courses upon courses, in person workshops and everything else under the sun when it comes to education. Quiet frankly, we think some of us are “coursed” out. We have all this learning and knowledge but to be honest, we haven’t had the time to fully implement what we have learned. So that’s why we came up with The Twelfth Year- WORK LAB – the unconventional workshop. It’s designed for you to learn and at the same time IMPLEMENT what you’ve learned. The schedule will include a set time for you to sit in front of your laptop and implement. Not by yourself either. The entire team will be there to help you.
This year’s WORK LAB has an amazing line-up. The speakers are rockin’ their own business back where they live, so we are excited that they each are committed to helping others in their own business. After all, we want you to build a business that is sustainable and profitable.

When is the The Twelfth Year -WORK LAB?
We are not messing around the WORK LAB is this year, 2016! November 1 thru November 3 with an optional opportunity to add to your portfolio of images during a shoot with models on November 4th. Your business can’t wait a year or even 6 months to get moving and groovin’ so we said lets make it happen!
Who are the speakers?
Oh this is sooo exciting! You love seeing Galicia on all her amazing videos, well now you will see her live and in person. So Galicia of The Twelfth Year, will be speaking on Social Media/Marketing and Workflow. Amanda Navarro of Amanda Mae Photography, will be speaking on Branding and Marketing Materials. Cyndee Wanyonyi of Ashki Photography will be speaking on Pricing and In Person Sales. Heather of Beck Impressions Photography, will be speaking on SEO/Website presence, and Lori Brady of BradyCrew Photography will lead round table discussions on the Journey of Senior Reps as well as Backfilling your Business during the off season. Also, Karen of Karen Nicole Photography will lead a round table discussion on DYI Packaging tips and tricks that are affordable and look fabulous.
Where is it?
In Portland, Oregon at the Kennedy School – a McMenamins property. (It’s super cool!) Having freedoms to choose where you work is important, but we all know we have to get the work done! So lets get it done together! The property includes restaurants so there is no need to ever really leave!
Where do I stay?
The McMenamins property at the Kennedy School is a historic school that has been renovated into lodging, restaurant and a pub. The lodging available is on site near the Work Lab meeting room. Each hotel room offers queen or king size beds. So that means you can either share a room with another attendee or have it to yourself. We suggest calling and booking your room as soon as possible to lock in your rate. Currently (as of Aug 11, they are between $185- $205 a night).
What airport do I fly in to?
Attendees can fly into Portland Airport (PDX).
Do I need a car?
Not exactly, you can take an Uber or a Taxi to the location of the Work Lab.
How much is registration?
Get this. We can’t even believe this. $750 per person. To participate in the “Portfolio Build Day” add on day is on November 4th, it’s an additional $125. No frills! We are serious when we say that this isn’t like any thing out there! (There are no refunds, however your registration may be transferrable upon request).
How many attendees?
We want to keep this really small so each of the attendees gets the support they need to IMPLEMENT what they learn. A total of 14 spots are available.
All hands on deck will have you leaving Portland with actual initiatives in place and the knowledge to propel your business into 2017!
2.5 days of “intense learning and doing some serious implementation”. Meals for the full Day 1 and Day 2, including snacks so we can get the energy to work. Material from the speakers… and super cool swag!
What should I bring?
You should bring your laptop. Further information on what to bring will be given soon.
What’s the optional day about?
On the 4th of November, we will be hosting an opportunity to use some off camera lighting and work together on posing to leave Portland with some new portfolio images. These are real seniors and not a themed shoot that you won’t be able to recreate at home. These images will work great right away on your website or as studio samples. There will be 6-8 models that are on Galicia’s Street Team. So that means you will get time with each model, hands on learning and a portfolio that you can use now! The cost is an additional $125. (A min of 6 attendees must attend in order to add this day to the event).
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes we do! Half is due at the time of registration and the final balance is auto set up 30 days after. There are a bit more details if you register later, however the final balance will need to be paid all by October 1st.
What happens after I register?
You will be added to a private Facebook group to “meet” the other attendees. We can all start making plans ASAP.
