Please give details about this session.
I like to think of this session as a mix of light. I went back and forth from natural to strobe in the unique location of an abandoned third floor of a downtown store. Last used as a dentist office in the 1960’s, it’s textures and window light made it a dream to have a session in.
Abbi, a 2015 senior, and I also stepped out in the alley behind the building to round out her session.

Sigma 70-200 2.8
Alien Bee 800 with beauty dish

Perennial of Lebanon for wardrobe.
Tell us about yourself and your business.
I started my business in 2010 and knew I wanted to specialize in seniors. I found a mentor and conferences to attend right from the start to grow my business. Five years later, I am seeing how putting the focus on my speciality is setting me apart in my area.
I am also a wife, mom to an 8 year old boy and a first grade teacher. I have taught first grade long enough to have former students as clients. It is awesome to make that connection with them again!
Please share one tip that you found to be successful to share with other photographers.
Find area conferences to attend. It is important to network with other photographers and continue to learn your craft and business. If you can’t make it to area conferences, check out Skype sessions with mentor photographer! Be willing to invest in your education if you want your business to grow. Education is of a greater value than your gear. 😉
