|Tell us about yourself and your business.
Hello! I’m Alex, the brain behind Eaglet Photography. I specialize in high school and college senior portraits, but I also love to dabble in product photography. At Eaglet Photography, the tagline is “Soar to infinite heights”. Basically, I want to do more than just take your senior photos. I want to capture these images that not only make my clients feel more empowered in what they do, but to know that they can use these photos on things like applications and resume, that way they can pursue their dreams.
|What is in your gear bag?
I hate carrying a ton of things around, so most of the time it’s my Nikon d7000 with a 50mm, extra batteries, and chocolate covered expresso beans (for when I need a boost of energy!).
|Where do you draw inspiration from?
My inspiration comes from a blend of nature and old buildings. I love to shoot in more urban settings, but I’m a hippie at heart who loves to be surrounded with trees!
|What is one obstacle you had when you first started your business? What did you do to overcome it?
I started my business when I was 16, so that was probably the biggest obstacle. Trying to let people know that I was professional, yet I barely could drive myself to sessions, was a huge struggle!
|Please share one tip that you found to be successful to share with other photographers.
Whatever feels right, keep doing that.
Every time I’m forcing myself to do something I don’t like, it ends up not working out anyways. Whether it’s marketing and social media, to booking that client and planning a shoot, if it doesn’t work out, you have to move on and learn that that may not be where you need to be!
