Jennifer got in touch with me, letting me know how much she loved my work and how much she wanted to one day have a shoot with me. It just so happened I was in the middle of shooting creatively for myself and needed someone to model anyways, so I invited Jennifer out on a shoot with a good friend of mine and I. Jennifer did her own make up and had someone professional do her hair and once she showed up we headed out to a small field in the middle of my little town. We started two hours before sunset and shot straight up until the sun went down.. with Jennifer killing it the entire time! Seriously, I think I told her she could totally go model professionally dozens of times haha We did quick changes to Jennifer’s hair through out the shoot, giving her some slightly different looks but other than that we kept it simple and let ourselves just shoot for the love of photography!
What gear did you use?
Nikon D7000 and an 85mm 1.8 lens
Tell us about yourself and your business.
I have the typical starting up story.. I had a fancy camera and a beautiful new baby girl and I started taking pictures of her like crazy! But as time moved on and I started photography as a business I realized that what I truly enjoyed was working with teen girls. I absolutely love showing girls their pictures and seeing their faces light up. I 100% believe that everyone is beautiful in their own unique way and I love showing my girls that through my camera!
Please share one tip that you found to be successful to share with other photographers.
Don’t look at the competition and compare yourself to them.. it’ll suck the joy and creativity out of your photography. Instead look at how far you’ve come and focus on that!
