|Tell us about yourself and your business.
First off, I. AM. A. D.O.R.K and you would most likely laugh at me and with me during a session with me. I have been in business since 2011 and recently have narrowed down to shooting Seniors & Families. I absolutely love shooting both types of sessions for different reasons. I love how carefree seniors are and how I’m capturing this time in their life where they will look back at these pictures and be able to see exactly their personality and style when they were a senior. Families I love because we all need to have visual proof of family and how it grows and the stages it goes through along the years. After losing my Mom earlier this year I realize just how important existing in printed photos is and I love that I am able to do that for so many families.

|Where do you draw inspiration from?
Inspiration is everywhere. So many different things can inspire me and spark a fire within. From reading things in print, to museums, watching fashion shows, nature and really just my surroundings.
|What is one obstacle you had when you first started your business? What did you do to overcome it?
I think the biggest obstacle starting out was just getting my name out there, getting clients and then having them understand the value of the service I provide. Being surrounded by many photographers in my city I just stayed true to my business plan of selling prints and working one on one with my clients to create an experience so they saw the value in products and service I offer.
|Please share one tip that you found to be successful to share with other photographers.
Have Tunnel Vision, don’t compare yourself to others and constantly look at others work. DO YOU, focus on yourself, your business and really creating and fine tuning everything about your experience from the service, products, shooting & editing. It’s so easy to get caught up in what others are doing and get down on yourself because they may be at a different level experience wise but just keep on and you will find your groove.
