Tell us about yourself and your business.
I’m a natural light photographer who LOVES to capture seniors and teens. I’m located in southeast Idaho and have recently remodel my very own studio space! Helping teens feel confident and beautiful in front of my camera is my passion, I want everyone to have the chance to see how truly beautiful they are.
What is in your gear bag?
Shot with a Canon 5D Mark iii, 70-200 mm @ 2.8
Where do you draw inspiration from? I draw inspiration from anywhere I can’t it! My clients, their wardrobes, nature, pop culture. I’m ALWAYS looking for unique ideas, my brain never stops!
Tell us about this session.
This is our second annual Halloween themed shoot. I have always used a senior model from the current year and I LOVE working with my HMUA! We like to step out from the norm and do something creative. Even though it was freezing this day, our model Madison rocked it!
What is one obstacle you had when you first started your business? What did you do to overcome it?
Probably my biggest obstacle, when I first started out, was my own insecurities. I often compared myself to others and didn’t believe that I was worth the prices that I had set for myself. I literally had to stop myself from stalking other photographers websites and social media. I had to put on blinders and focus on my work, my clients, and reminding myself that there wasn’t anyone out there that was exactly like me. There are still days when those insecurities try to sneak back in, I make a conscious effort to stay positive and focused!
Please share one tip that you found to be successful to share with other photographers.
It’s fun to plan and carry out a concept for yourself once in awhile, it keeps your creativity up and can be very rewarding!
